History: The Diocese of Wilmington was erected from territory in the Diocese of Philadelphia (Delaware) and Archdiocese of Baltimore (eastern Maryland and eastern Virginia), 1868. It lost its territory in Virginia, 1974, and it has evangelized Native Americans, 1990s-present.
