History: Founded in Quebec, Canada, 1850, the Sisters of St. Anne established its provinces, 1896, which included St. Joseph鈥檚 for Western Canada and St. Marie for the United States. Sisters from St. Joseph鈥檚 Province staffed a Catholic mission, school, and orphanage for Native Americans in Alaska:
