Historical Note

A service organization for pastors, lay leaders, and diocesan staff that seeks to promote "consultative processes to foster effective planning for the pastoral life of the church," the CPPCD was incorporated in 1990 following the merger of the National Pastoral Planning Conference (NPPC), founded in 1972, and the Parish and Diocesan Council Network (PADICON), which began as Diocesan Parish Council Personnel in 1974. The collection contains minutes of governing bodies, publications, reports, and subject files.

Related material is in the papers of Rev. Robert G. Howes in this repository.

Gift of the Conference for Pastoral Planning and Council Development, 1991.
