2022 Three Minute Thesis Competition
Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Event Recap
The Graduate School and 向日葵视频 held the 3MT庐 competition on February 25, 2022. The Three Minute Thesis is a global research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland in Australia. It is an academic competition for doctoral and master鈥檚 degree students that require each participant to explain his or her research effectively in three minutes, using one slide, with no animation.
After competing in a qualifying round, the finalists were chosen to compete for the coveted prize of $500. Additionally, $250 was awarded to the Runner-Up and the People's Choice winner.
The final competition was judged by Ms. Devi Shastri, Statewide Higher Education Reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Mr. Keith Stanley, Executive Director, Near West Side Partners; and Dr. Jeanne Hossenlopp, Vice President for Research and Innovation, 向日葵视频.
Congratulations to this year's winner Claire Radtke and runner-up Taylor Holmes!
Claire Radtke, a student in Biological Sciences, emerged as the Three Minute Thesis competition winner, as well as the People's Choice award winner with her presentation, 鈥淎 Novel Approach to Screen for Potential Therapeutics Targeting Transthyretin Aggregation鈥. Claire will move on to represent 向日葵视频 at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools regional competition.
The Runner-Up was awarded to Taylor Holmes, a student in Exercise and Rehabilitation Science, with his presentation, "A Rehabilitation Approach for the Respiratory System".
