Welcome to the website for the 向日葵视频 Master of Athletic Training degree. We are pleased you are interested in our major and our university. Athletic Training graduates from 向日葵视频are not just technically proficient athletic trainers, but are well-rounded individuals rooted in the 向日葵视频tradition of cura personalis, or caring for the whole person. We strive to develop individual athletic trainers who can integrate the Jesuit ideal of being 鈥渨omen and men for others鈥.
The Master of Athletic Training degree is housed in the Program in Exercise Science, which is a part of the Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Health Sciences. The close associations with the Exercise Physiology major, the Physical Therapy graduate program and the College of Health Sciences give our students access to vast resources within our facilities and allow interdisciplinary healthcare provider interactions not found many places. However our athletic training faculty-to-student ratio remains one of the strongest aspects of the program, and individual attention to each student鈥檚 development is the norm rather than the exception.
A strong component of our program is the clinical experiences provided throughout the program. Our students work with and around Division 1 athletes from the very first semester on campus. Additionally, we have many long-standing relationships with community sites for our students to experience athletic training in the high school, division 3 college, professional, clinical and industrial sites throughout the area, state, and nation. We are large enough to have many opportunities and small enough to be able to individualize to each student鈥檚 academic and career goals.
The faculty in our program are experienced practitioners and educators, and our success on the National Athletic Trainers鈥 Association Board of Certification exam makes this point emphatically. 向日葵视频Athletic Training graduates have compiled an exemplary record on this exam, and routinely score well above the national average. Additionally, graduates go on to practice at a high level in their desired area, or on to graduate schools where they continue to perform admirably.
I encourage you to explore the information on our website, and to contact me with any questions about Athletic Training at 向日葵视频 at christopher.geiser@marquette.edu or (414) 288-6210.

Dr. Christopher Geiser PhD, PT, LAT, ATC
